OASIS Rules of Play
The FIFA Rules shall apply except when superseded by any of the following rules.
Games will be:
11 v 11 full field running men 60+, 65+ & women 50+.
Where possible teams will nominate as an “A” quality team or “B” park team.
Groups of 4 teams and groups of 6 teams will be formed.
If only one group of 4 teams they play each other twice, 6 games, medals given on end position.
If two groups of 4, play one round, 3 games each, then top 2 from each join and lower 2 join, 3 more games each and the medals are given for the final position of the top teams.
6 team groups will play 5 games, then finals. Depending on numbers of teams that nominate & how many “A” teams a finals grouping will be worked out.
A round match shall be 45 minutes games with a half time break of 5 minutes.
The times are for all game types 11 v 11.
Finals matches shall be 60 minutes 30 each way with a half time break of 5 minutes. Should a match be drawn at full time, NO extra time to be played. A penalty shoot-out, shall apply to determine the winner.
Round Matches - Points Awarded Win: 3 points. Draw: 1 point. Loss: 0 points. Games cancelled will be recorded as a scoreless draw with both teams given 1 point.
Teams must be ready on the field of play to start the game by the designated game commencement time. A team will be deemed to have forfeited the game if unable to field a team (min 8 players) within 10 minutes of the designated game commencement time.
In the event of a forfeit, a 3-0 win will be awarded to the opposing team.
A player must not play for more than one team in an age division of the same format.
A player may play for more than one team in different age divisions if eligible by age.
A male player 65 Y/O could register and play 60+ & 65+.
Team Composition
Each team can nominate 18 registered players for 11 v 11 games. There is no limitation on the number of players registered for each team.
Goal keepers are granted an age exemption in men 60+, 65+ and women 50+ they can be 3 years below the age requirement.
Women 50+ teams will be allowed to register five (5) underage players who are three (3) years of age under the age division 47 to 49. Including goal keepers.
Men 60+ teams will be allowed to register five (5) underage players, three (3) 59 years of age and two (2) 58, goal keepers included.
Men 65+ teams will be allowed to register five (5) underage players, three (3) 64 years of age and two (2) 63, including goal keepers.
Players must turn the applicable age for their division at the tournament start date.
A registered player will only be eligible to play for one team in an age division, but they will be able to play in more than one (1) age division if they are eligible by age.
If a team has less than eight (8) primary team members on the park and ready to play at the start of the game, it will forfeit the game. If the game is still played, it is regarded as a friendly.
Players can interchange at will. Players can come on and off with permission of the Referee.
Each team must nominate a Captain before the match begins.
Offences (FIFA Rules) Plus These Changes
No side tackles are permitted.
Sliding to stop a ball more than 2 metres from a player will be referee discretion.
No tackles from behind are permitted.
Aggressive play, dissent and foul language are not tolerated.
Penalties for the above offences:
Yellow Card – 5 minutes sin-bin – no replacement
Yellow Card - second offence – sent from the field – no replacement.
Any player(s) involved in fighting will be sent off immediately (Red Card)
Anyone abusing officials will be red carded.
Judiciary
Team Officials are responsible for the conduct of their players and must withdraw any player who is unwilling to play in the intended spirit: fun and fellowship. The Referee will have sole discretion as to disciplinary action against rough or ungentlemanly conduct on the field.
Two (2) yellow cards in a game will be considered the equivalent of a red card as in FIFA rules.
If a player is given a red card (sent off) the player shall receive an immediate 1 match suspension. The suspension applies to the competition the player is registered and will not be eligible to play for any other team until the suspension is served. A forfeited game or a game cancelled due to weather where the player was illegible to play will not be counted as a suspension game.
Should a team play a suspended player it will forfeit the game and it will be recorded as a 3-0 loss.
Any player who has been sent off for the second red card during the competition is automatically suspended for the remainder of the competition.
The judiciary committee can impose a longer suspension if found the players actions warrant further suspension.
Any suspended player who receives a suspension for more than one match has the right to appeal to the Judiciary Committee. The suspended player will be notified of their suspension before their next scheduled game. A notice of intention to appeal must be given to the Football Convenor within two hours of the completion of that match.
The Judiciary Committee shall be made up from:
One representative from the referees.
One representative from the tournament management committee.
One representative from the teams in that division.
The Football Convenor.
The Judiciary Committee shall meet before the next scheduled game of the suspended player and the decision of the Judiciary Committee shall be final.
Venue, Draw, Team Colours
OASIS will issue complete draws of all competitions to each team delegate who shall ensure that individual team members are aware of the draw. The draws shall also be posted on a Notice Board at the field and website.
In case of both teams having the same colours as determined by the referee, the Away team must have a change of uniform i.e. second team named on draw.
Team Sheets
Every team must complete a team sheet. Names and shirt numbers to be printed on the team sheet. To be done 20 minutes before game start time.
Players must have photo ID and accreditation at all times.
All players names that are expected to play in that game must be on the team sheet prior to kick-off; including those players expected to arrive late.
All Players and team officials must sign the team sheet prior to commencement of play.
All late Players must sign the team sheet prior to taking the field of play.
Team sheet presented by Team leaders at end of game must show players who were yellow or red carded.
Finals and Presentation
To be eligible for the finals series a player must have played three (3) or more competition games in that team that has qualified.
All disciplinary cards received will stand for the final series.
All Divisions Men and Women Competition matches will be played Friday to Sunday with the top placed teams advancing to the Finals on Sunday afternoon & Monday.
There may be Semi-Finals, or two finals the Gold/Silver medal match and the Bronze medal match 1 v 2 (Gold & Silver Medal Match) 3 v 4 (Bronze Medal Match).
In the event a finals’ game is cancelled due to injury or unforeseen circumstances with less than 25% of the game played, then the team who finished higher during the competition will be awarded the highest medal available for the that game.
If a finals’ game is cancelled due to injury or unforeseen circumstances with more that 75% of the game played, then the result at the time of cancellation will stand as the result for that game.
Medal presentations for each age group will take place upon the completion of Gold/Silver medal match for that age group.
Results
Competition results and points tables will be displayed at the venue and updated constantly throughout the day.
Results and tables will be updated daily and can be viewed at the ground or on the website.
Wet Weather
Alternative venues will be advised when and if necessary. Games cancelled will be recorded as a scoreless draw with both teams given 1 point.
If more than 75% of games in a competition round of an age division are cancelled due to weather conditions then that entire round of competition games will be recorded as a scoreless draw with both teams given 1 point.
