Following the successful event organised by Hillsbillies last December, OASIS in conjunction with Western Sydney Wanderers FC has run another successful mini gala day on 12 February.
A big thank you to Matthew Knight and Natalie Gatt of WSW for their help in having this event at WSW grounds.
This mini gala day coincides with the official launch of the Western Sydney Wanderers 11-13 June long weekend tournament for Men’s Over 60, Over 65 also Over 50 Women’s. It is also the official launch of the OASIS Masters Football Association.
This mini gala day was held at WSW Football Park, with the following O60 and O65 teams participated:
1. Hillsbillies
2. Balmain
3. Eastern Suburbs
4. Alive N Kicking
5. Australian Chinese Soccer Association (ACSA)
6. South Coast Rhinos
7. Northern Beaches
We are also excited to announce that we also organised a game for two O/50 Women teams for the first time, players from the Ravens, Baulkham Hills and the Hills.
The standard of the players varied from Ex Socceroo Ernie Campbell and Ex Matilda Moya Dodd to park players that just want to play over 60 football. It was a fun day with 9 x 40-minute games played and everyone having a great time. Even a huge downpour didn’t dampen the day.
Other than the WSW June tournament we are also organising an Easter Gala in Wollongong 16-17 April. All teams are welcome and more details will follow.
